Lato separates storage from the countertop and invites freedom of composition, like a neoplastic exercise where volumes and surfaces find balance in space. The modules become suspended planes that collaborate with the entire façade, creating subtle relationships between solids and voids, shadows and reflections. It is a system that imposes no rigid rules but opens up to light and refined combinations, giving the project an uncommon and valuable compositional ease.
“It is not about composing forms, but about constructing spatial relationships.” — Theo van Doesburg
Compositions are built from 20-cm-pitch modules, available from 40 to 120 cm, housed within a single cabinet frame — a distinctive feature of the system — which can extend from 40 to 200 cm. The modules come in three heights, 20, 30 and 40 cm, conceived to create articulated and variable façades. The cabinet frame is in poplar plywood faced in HDF, folded and veneered in oak selected and processed by Tabu exclusively for Agape, with volumes that develop in depths of 42 or 50 cm. Serie L fronts complete the system with solid wood drawers featuring push-pull soft-close mechanisms, while open units can also be custom-made, unlocking further compositional possibilities. Lato interacts with Flat self-supporting tops, with structures such as Rigo, and with wall-mounted freestanding washbasins, allowing for light configurations free from rigid constraints.
