The Rendez-vous daybed, designed by Marco Carini, extends its scope beyond the confines of the bathroom. Its recycled aluminium tubular frame, finished in a warm brick-red or dark brown shade, was conceived to withstand contact with water.
"With the introduction of an outdoor fabric for the mattress and cushion, this potential is fully realised, and the daybed becomes a completely outdoor piece."
The transition does not alter the design, but rather refines its qualities: the slender lines of the frame support soft volumes now conceived for outdoor use. The piece can therefore inhabit a bathroom, a terrace or hospitality spaces with equal ease. It marks a new stage in a project designed to accompany the body at rest, between indoors and out.
